Government appoints M Nageshwar Rao as interim CBI chief with immediate affect
In an order by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions dated 23 October 2018, Verma and Asthana have been sent on leave and as an interim arrangement, a 1986 batch Indian Police Service officer of the Orissa cadre, Nageswara Rao has been appointed to head the premier investigating agency with immediate effect.
