Voter awareness campaign stimulates “Jazba Soch ka” to empower voters

In today’s era of sensationalism, Zee News has not forgotten its duty as the Fourth Estate of Democracy. Zee News’ mass media campaign on voter awareness is one of the most responsible initiatives launched by any media house in the country.

The journey of the nation’s biggest voter awareness campaign- Aapka Vote Aapki Taqat [AVAT]- began in Year 2009 with Lok Sabha Elections, Zee News started a campaign to make people realise the power of their vote. This splendid thought and initiative has been supported by The Election Commission of India for last four years. CEC also appreciated this noble initiative for its impact at large. The AVAT campaign has helped and supported EC India to fulfil its main agenda- increasing voter awareness on voting rights and participation of voters. Other, milestones were achieved by executing awareness campaign successfully in states assembly elections of Maharashtra, Haryana, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar & West Bengal.

Through this initiative our attempt is to educate and awaken people not just about their rights and duties but also the power of ONE Vote. Apka Vote…Aapki Taqat!!! Zee News with the help of various responsible partners – corporate and social organisations - has been successfully able to reach out to hundreds of cities and thousands of villages. Keeping in mind the different cultures and lifestyles across the country, it is indeed a massive task to make AVAT a success.
AAPKA VOTE AAPKI TAAQAT returns in the State Assembly Elections 2012 to strengthen democracy
Continuing the legacy, this year also Zee News is all geared up for State Assembly Elections scheduled in Five States – Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur and Goa- to encourage and motivate citizens to participate in the democratic process and cast vote judiciously. To spread the message – “Aapka Vote Aapki Taqat , Samajhdhari Se Istemal Karein” Zee News, nation’s most trusted news channel, is back again with the voter awareness campaign.

Moving ahead in its mission of encouraging viewers to cast their valuable vote intelligently, the channel has launched the campaign - 4th successive year- on January 25th 2012 in five states- Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur & Goa, which is exclusively supported by Election Commission of India. Partnered with the nation’s leading youth organisation NYKS (Nehru Yuva Kendra Sanathan), social organisation Jan Chetna Manch (JCM), leading coffee chain which is a popular hang-out place for youth Barista Lavazza and popular local radio station RED FM.

A series of informative and engaging on-ground activities are planned in prominent cities of UP, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur. Ground Events will also be conducted in colleges and universities to educate the youth/students about their rights and responsibilities. This includes signature campaign, skits, rallies and street plays. Emphasized on the education of masses about their duty as well as their responsibility towards the nation
