Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court today granted anticipatory bail to West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh in connection with a case of an alleged inflammatory speech delivered by him.

A division bench of Justice Nadira Patheriya and Justice SK Prasad granted anticipatory bail to Ghosh on the condition that he would not enter the Jhargram police district in West Midnapore for the next six months.

The bench also directed Ghosh to report to the investigating officer once a week until further orders.

An FIR under section 505, IPC (inflammatory speech) was lodged against Ghosh on the basis of a complaint by one Suman Shaw, wherein it was claimed that the state BJP chief had made inflammatory remarks while addressing a party workers' meet at Jhargram on December 10, 2016.
