Jaipur: The ruling Congress on Sunday conceded defeat to the BJP in Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2013, saying the party had failed to showcase the development it had carried out in the state.
As per trends/results available till 11:15 am, the BJP was ahead in 133 seats while the Congress was leading in only 27. “We have failed in our bid to showcase the development we carried out in the state,” said Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, after trends showed the BJP was headed for a landslide win.
“We had put our best foot forward,” he said further, adding, "In Rajasthan, the results need to be analysed.” Gehlot charged the BHP of spreading lies during the poll campaign.
“During BJP`s election rallies in Rajasthan, they spread lies about Congress` governance. That is what changed people`s mind.”
