New Delhi: Earth Sciences Minister Harsh Vardhan on Thursday launched a mobile application 'India Quake' that will have information on earthquakes like its epicentre, intensity and timing.

Currently, the information after earthquake strike is disseminated to a selected central government ministries, state departments and district collectors through SMS.


Vardhan also launched mobile app 'Sagar Vani' to disseminate ocean information and alerts to the user community in timely manner.


The app has been developed by Indian National Centre For Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), an institute under the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
