Right then, 47 runs in the last two overs, and a total of 75 runs in the last 4 overs for West Indies and that has changed the make of this game completely. England do have the batting to gun this target down and it should be a very exciting chase. Stay tuned as the run chase is up next.
Things changed quickly in the final 5-6 overs as Rovman Powell took the bull by the horns and played a stellar cameo to re-ignite the innings. After he fell, Jason Holder and Romario Shepherd went berserk in the 19th over, smashing Adil Rashid for a total of 5 sixes and that really shifted the momentum. The Windies were able to pick up a few more boundaries in the final over and ended the innings on a high.
The middle phase was where the hosts came roaring back into the game and once they saw the back of Shai Hope, they managed to put on the squeeze. Charles did start to get a move on but played too many shots and got out and the Windies' scoring rate was hovering under the 8 runs per over mark.
West Indies were put into bat by Harry Brook, but their innings got off to the worst possible start. Evin Lewis fell on the very first ball as Johnson Charles struggled for timing in the Powerplay. It was a thunderous knock from Shai Hope that ensured the Windies had a fruitful Powerplay. For England, Luke Wood bowled a couple of fine overs as the others went the distance early on.
Now, that is a more than competitive total on the board and West Indies will be ecstatic heading into the innings break. England would have taken a score around 170 runs and even that would have been more than they were staring at around the 13th-14th over mark, but 197 is definitely going to be a difficult chase, even with their batting lineup.
