Once Arya departed, Shashank took charge, ensuring there was no dip in intensity, with Marco Jansen giving the final push past 200 with an unbeaten 65-run stand.
After winning the toss, Shreyas Iyer backed his batters to go big, and Punjab Kings delivered in style. Arya came out like a man on a mission, blasting a jaw-dropping 53 off just 19 balls in the Powerplay, even as wickets tumbled at the other end. He then carried on his rampage, bringing up a spectacular 39-ball century in a breathtaking display of power-hitting.
That was an electrifying first innings, with Punjab Kings storming to a colossal 219, putting them firmly in the driverâs seat as they head into the break. After winning the toss, Shreyas Iyer backed his batters to go big, and Punjab Kings delivered in style.
