BHOPAL: A mother of an 8-year-old boy in Madhya Pradesh has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help treat her mute and deaf son who helped eradicate the bane of open defecation in their village.

“It's a matter of pride for us that my son who is mute and deaf brought laurels to our village,” Tushar's mother said after the PM cited the little boy's example during his talk in Mann Ki Baat radio programme on Sunday.

“We can't afford his treatment, we appeal Modi Ji if he can help us in getting him operated in India or outside,” she told ANI.

The prime minister mentioned about Tushar's contribution for making his village in Balaghat open-defecation free.
