2.0 Day 1 Box Office collections: Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer takes a massive start

New Delhi: Megastar Rajinikanth and Khiladi Akshay Kumar starrer '2.0' has hit it off on a high. The film has got good reviews and has been got the audiences hooked to the theatres. The movie has been helmed by veteran filmmaker S Shankar and this was the first time that these two joined forces for the screens.

Noted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and shared the Day 1 Box Office collections. Here's what he wrote: “Non-holiday release... Non-festival period... Yet, #2Point0 takes a SUPER START... Keeping in mind the fact that it’s a dubbed film + advance bookings opened very late, the biz is STRONG... Thu ₹ 20.25 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version.”

'2.0' is written and directed by S Shankar. This happens to be the first Indian film that is directly shot in 3D. '2.0' is a sequel to superhit 2010 Tamil film 'Enthiran' which had Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead.

The sci-fi drama will see Rajinikanth reprising the roles of Dr Vaseegaran and Chitti, alongside Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson.

The film is being shot simultaneously in Tamil and Hindi respectively. Academy award winning music maestro AR Rahman has composed music for the film. Reportedly, '2.0' happens to be the most expensive Indian film being made to date. The film hit the screens on November 29, 2018.
