Mumbai: Both Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are brands to reckon with not just in India but in the global arena too. The two leading ladies of Bollywood are doing exceptionally well in their professional endeavours and are making many of their contemporaries green with envy.
Sometime in October last year, reports suggested that either of the two will be taken on board an Indo-Chinese film directed by Siddharth Anand. And now, if the latest reports are anything to go by, then the Deepika has been chosen over Priyanka.
Talking about the project a few months back, Anand had said, “Yes, it’s a cross-cultural romance set in Beijing. I’m excited to explore and showcase another culture through this film. Our Chinese producers have suggested Deng Chao’s name but we will take a final call when I visit China next month.”
“The film will have an A-list actress who already has an international presence...,” Anand said when he was asked who would play the female lead in the film.
