New Delhi: The biopic on Sanjay Dutt has been generating curiousity among the masses ever since its inception and is being eagerly awaited for its release. 

Given the fact the movie will rotate around the life of Sanju Baba, has been a roller-coaster ride with much ups and downs, the biopic is expected to be a good fantastic drama. 

Here, we bring to you some of the interesting facts about the flick: 

The film features Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role in the film. The actor has gone some extra mile to get into the skin of the character. Be it growing his hair, adding extra pounds or even immitating the walking style of Dutt, the Kapoor lad has been doing it all. Interestingly, during an interview, Ranbir confessed to have been star-struck with Sanjay Dutt as a kid. He even said that he still has a photo of Dutt in his cupboard. 

The film is directed by Rajkumar Hirani, with whom Sanjay has worked thrice -  'Munna Bhai MBBS', 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' and 'PK'. All the three films went on to become the cult classic. However, during one of the interview, Hirani, who decided to make a biopic on the 'Khalnayak' actor revealed that he is not friends with Sanjay but both of them only share a mutual respect. 

According to reports, both Sanjay and Hirani will be seen doing a cameo in the film. The director is said to essay the role of Subhash Ghai in the film whose films Dutt has been a part of.

A Times Now report said that before making the film, Hirani spent hours and hours watching over 300 hours of footage for the biopic.

The film also boasts of an ensemble cast that includes Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza, Vicky Kaushal, Jim Sarbh and Karishma Tanna. Veteran actress Tabu is also expected to do a special appearance in the film. Rumours are also doing the rounds that director Mahesh Bhatt will also be making a brief appearance in the film.

Veteran actors Manisha Koirala and Paresh Rawal will be seen enacting the role of Sanjay's parents - Nargis and Sunil Dutt respectively in the film. Dia will be seen playing Sanjay's wife Maanayata Dutt in the biopic. Sonam Kapoor, who also features in the film, will reportedly be seen essaying the role of one of the love interests of Dutt.

The film will also explore Sanjay's relationship with his late star father Sunil Dutt. 

A report claimed that the makers roped in southern star Aditi Seiya for the role of Sanjay's sibling Priya Dutt in the film. 

Despite several names coming up like - 'Dutt' and 'Sanju Baba' and 'Sanju', the film continues to remain untitled. The film, which according to reports, was initially scheduled to release on March 30, has now been pushed to June 29. 

The first trailer of the biopic is likely to be dropped on May 8, the same day Sanjay's debut film 'Rocky' had released. 'Rocky' marked the Bollywood debut of Sanjay, and was released on May 8, 1981, only five days after he lost his mother Nargis Dutt to cancer.
