Mumbai: The makers of Simmba revealed the name of the leading lady (Sara Ali Khan) in the film recently. And now, another actor has joined the cast of the Rohit Shetty directorial. Wondering who it is?

Well, here's the answer. Bollywood's Chhedi Singh aka Sonu Sood will now be a part of Simmba, Shetty and Karan Johar's first film together as director and producer respectively.

The hunk of an actor, who has played a number of interesting roles, will be seen in Simmba, a film that promises to be an out and out masala entertainer.

The film is not just Ranveer's first with Shetty but also Sonu's.

Going by the latest reports, it looks likely that Sonu has replaced R Madhavan in the film. Maddy was initially on board the film to play the main antagonist. But owing to his injury, he had to walk out of the film.

dnaindia.com quoted a source as saying, “Ranveer and Sonu have great physiques. They will match each other really well on the big screen. This will be a face-off to watch out for.”

Sonu was recently honoured with the Punjab Ratan award for his contribution to the welfare of people of Punjab, especially his hometown, Moga.

During the ceremony, the 44-year-old actor also paid homage to the soldiers who fought the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

"I feel really honoured to get Punjab Ratan award from the Governor of Punjab and that too at a venue which was full of the families of the martyrs in the 1971 war and several Majors, Colonels and soldiers who fought that war were also present," Sonu said in a statement.

"It was a great honour. I can relate to it more because I just finished one schedule of J P Dutta's 'Paltan' where I'm playing a Major and was in the uniform for two months. Meeting those families and people, who sacrificed their lives for their nation, was a huge honour. I feel blessed. It was all possible because of the blessings of my parents," he added.

Besides Paltan, Sonu also has Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi in his kitty.
