Will Kareena-Sonam's buddy film Veere Di Wedding enter 100 crore club?

With 'Race 3' arriving at theatres and dominating the market share, the business of the female-oriented film had been hit miserably.

The collection of Shashanka Ghosh's directorial 'Veere Di Wedding' has suffered massively due to Salman Khan's high-octane action drama 'Race 3'. The film starring Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania made its way to the top five openers of 2018 and was till now ranking at the third spot, headed by 'Padmaavat'. 

However, with 'Race 3' arriving at theatres and dominating the market share, the film's business has been hit miserably. On Friday, the female-oriented film collected Rs 70 lakh, which was the lowest so far.

Noted trade analyst and film critic shared the business collection of the film and wrote, "#VeereDiWedding takes a dip, with #Race3 dominating the market share... [Week 3] Fri 70 lakhs. Total: ₹ 77.83 cr. India biz." 
It is to be noted that the Salman-starrer has left behind Tiger Shroff's 'Baaghi 2' to become the biggest opener of this year. The film saw a massive opening of Rs 29 crore.

'Veere Di Wedding' which had been performing extremely well at the Box Office and had emerged as the winner stands with the net collection of Rs 77.83 crore. And looking at the current market trend, it is unlikely the film will enter the 100 crore club. 

Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, 'Veere Di Wedding' music is also riding on top slots in various chartbuster lists. This film has been the talk of the town for many reasons. Firstly, 'Veere...' is significant as it's seen as Kareena's comeback vehicle after her brief pregnancy break. Also, this is Sonam's first outing after marrying longtime boyfriend Anand Ahuja.

The female buddy comedy flick has also earned its place in the top 5 opening weekend collections of 2018 so far. But, with 'Race 3' dominating the market with juggernaut force, the position of 'Veere..' is most likely to be hit in the list. 

The movie is co-produced by Rhea and Ekta Kapoor and also stars Sumeet Vyas and Vishwas Kini.
