New Delhi, Jan 02: Making clear that dialogue was essential to resolve Kashmir issue, Hurriyat Conference today said that it would seek help from organisations from other Asian countries to find a solution to the issue as otherwise it could be a major security risk for the entire continent.

Talking to newspersons before leaving for an Asian conference of non-governmental organisations to be held in Hyderabad tomorrow, former Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said that during the conference he would highlight the need for immediate dialogue between the concerned parties on the issue-- India, Pakistan and people of Kashmir. The Mirwaiz, who will be speaking on two issues peace and security and alternative peoples' struggle, said, "When we talk about peace in the Asian continent, let us not turn our back to the main problem of Kashmir which could turn out to be a nuclear flash point between India and Pakistan."

He said that he would seek help from other NGOs in resolving the Kashmir issue. The six-day conference is expected to witness participation of 10,000 delegates from 300 non-governmental organisations from all over Asia.
Noted human rights activists from Pakistan and Palestine are also likely to join the conference organised by Asian social forum.
