New Delhi:Toyota Motor Corporation has recalled 6.5 million vehicles across the world, which includes its popular models Camry, Camry Hybrid, Corolla and the RAV4 SUV.
According to the industry sources, the recall will mainly replace a faulty power-window master switch, which could be due to poor lubrication of switches.
The car manufacturer feels that a minor fault in the power-window switch can potentially turn serious and lead to fire.
The vehicles affected are Camry and Camry Hybrid (2007 and 2009), Corolla (2009-2011) and the RAV4 SUV (2006-2011). Around 2.7 million vehicles have been affected in North America, 1.2 million in Europe, 6 lakh units in Japan and another 2 million units in other regions.
Recently, Toyota had another recall regarding defective airbags supplied by the Takata Corporation
