New Delhi, Aug 11: External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha will come face-to-face with Pakistan minister Inamul Haq at the Saarc foreign minister's meet in Kathmandu later this month, eight months after the famous Musharraf handshake with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the same venue.
But there will be no formal meeting between the two, official sources said.
Sinha, who returned today after a three-day visit to Kabul and other cities of the war-ravaged Afghanistan, will take off for the Nepalese capital on August 20.
The current Indo-Pak tensions may come up during the parleys. There is also speculation about a meeting between Sinha and Haq on the margins of the Saarc meeting but official sources categorically ruled out any formal, substantive meeting between the two.
The courtesies expected during such meetings would be observed, they said.
The visit assumes significance as Sinha would get the opportunity to explicitly convey to his counterparts from other Saarc countries barring Pakistan, India's concerns on cross-border terrorism and infiltration from Pakistan. Bureau Report
