Lady Gaga to donate USD 1 million to charity

London: Pop diva Lady Gaga is donating USD 1 million for the cause of homeless youth and has asked fans to help her pick a charity.

The `Just Dance` hitmaker has teamed up with the Robin Hood Foundation to hand the generous donation to one of the five New York City charities set up to help homeless youth. "I`m thrilled to be working with the Robin Hood Foundation to distribute funds to help the youth of New York City. NYC is my hometown and I think investing in these kids` future will go a long way," said Gaga. The 25-year-old singer has asked her fans to vote for the organisation which deserves the money most in a poll on her Facebook page. The winner, to be announced at a Robin Hood Foundation gala on May 9, will receive USD 500,000 over a two-year period, while the other charities will receive smaller grants. PTI
