Mumbai: Director Madhur Bhandarkar, known for making hard-hitting realistic films, has indicated his desire to make a movie on film awards.
He shot to fame with `Chandni Bar` (2001) starring Tabu and Atul Kulkarni. The film, that showed the plight of dance bar girls, earned him his first National Award. He then went to make realistic films like `Page 3`, `Traffic Signal`, `Jail`, `Fashion` and `Corporate`. "Lots of people are telling or suggesting me to make a film on awards. I am thinking of this nice subject as no one has made a film on the topic," Bhandarkar told reporters at an award nomination party here last evening. At present, the Director is busy with his much-awaited project `Heroine` that revolves around the life of an actress, Mahi Khanna, played by Kareena Kapoor. This film is scheduled to release this year. Asked about his favourite film of 2011, he said, "A lot of good films were made. Personally, I liked `Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Box office-wise it was a hit. All three actors ? Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol - were good in the movie." PTI
