Washington: Stressing on the importance of fatherhood, US President Barack Obama said that what children need most is their parents`` time, unconditional love and structure.
Obama, the father of two kids and who also coaches his daughter Sasha``s basketball team, spoke about the rewards and responsibilities of being a dad himself, during his weekly radio address. Emphasising on the parents’ role in the children’s lives, Obama noted that when he was growing up, he keenly felt the absence of his own father, who left the family when the young Barack was only two years old. That’s one reason he recently served as an assistant coach on Sasha’s basketball team, he said. Obama sounded super excited talking about coaching his daughter’s basketball team. “On Sundays, we’d get the team together to practice, and a couple of times, I’d help coach the games, the Christian Science Monitor quoted him as saying.
