London: ‘Motorcycle Diaries’ star Gael Garcia Bernal has become one of the youngest actors to win a career achievement award at the Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland.
The Mexican actor, whose career spans more than 20 years, said he still feels inexperienced as he accepted the Excellence Award at the annual movie event on Wednesday, reported Contactmusic. Taking to the stage in the Piazza Grande to accept his trophy, the 33-year-old shook the prize over his head and played air guitar with it. "I think I still have a lot of room to grow. Perhaps not in terms of height, but in terms of experience," said Bernal. The same honour was given to veteran British actress Charlotte Rampling earlier in the festival, which kicked off on August 1, while past recipients include Susan Sarandon, John Malkovich and Willem Dafoe.
