Washington: Robert Pattinson admits that he finds his Twilight Saga character Edward ‘flawed’ and ‘ugly’ and doesn’t understand people’s fascination with vampires.
The British heartthrob, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the movie franchise, also revealed that he wanted to play the flaws in Edward’s character but he wasn’t allowed to do so.
“The annoying thing about him is the fan’s perception of him as the perfect guy. I wanted to play his flaws but then you have this subliminal idea coming from everywhere saying, ‘No he’s got to be perfect’,” Contactmusic quoted him as telling Empire Online.
“I have never understood fascination with vampires. People are obsessed and I don’t know why.
The actor also talked about how his quest for privacy was thwarted by fans and even finding a place to live became difficult.
“Trying to find a house you’re like, ‘What’s the street parking like? Can people see in? I can’t have people park outside,” he said.
“You can’t have anyone cleaning your place and you have to worry about your guests just in case someone talks about where you live,” he added.
