Mumbai: Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor and his wife Neetu, who were a popular Bollywood pair in the 1970s, will be seen together on screen in a Walt Disney movie Do Dooni Chaar which releases on October 8.
Produced by Planman Motion Pictures, Do Dooni Chaar is the story of a middle class family directed by Habib Faisal.
The film stars the hit duo who return to the silver screen as a leading pair after 30 years.
Neetu had earlier made a fleeting appearance in Imtiaz Ali`s Love Aajkal with Rishi Kapoor.
"Storytelling is at the heart of Disney`s creative heritage and Do Dooni Chaar is the best representation of this with its delightful and touching narrative that will resonate with every Indian family and features characters to fall in love with," said Swati Shetty, executive director - Theatrical Productions and Acquisitions, Walt Disney Studios International Production (India).
At the center of the film is the Duggal family who audiences follow through their everyday life.
Rishi Kapoor plays the father, a schoolteacher trying his best to cope with double-digit inflation rates and single digit increments in his salary.
Neetu plays his wife who loves the good life and add to that, a demanding teenaged daughter (Aditi Vasudev) and a fast-track son (Archit Krishna).
The real action begins when the family decides to buy into the big middle class dream and graduate from a scooter to a car.
Do Dooni Chaar has been an incredible experience for us and we are thrilled to be working with Disney to enable more Indian movie lovers the opportunity to see this film that we are extremely proud of," said Shubho Shekhar Bhattacharjee, CEO and creative director, Planman Motion Pictures.
"Do Dooni Chaar and the recently announced Telugu fantasy adventure film `Anaganaga O Dheerudu` (Once Upon a Warrior), made for our southern audiences, highlight the versatility of our studios business to produce across different languages and genres," Shetty said.
