Heath Ledger`s last film finds distributor in US

Oscar-winner Heath Ledger`s last film `The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus` has finally found a buyer in US.

Los Angeles: Oscar-winner Heath Ledger`s last film `The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus` has finally found a buyer in US. Sony Pictures Worldwide is reportedly in talks to distribute the film and is planning to release it in US this year.
Directed by Terry Gilliam, the adventure film was Ledger`s last movie before his death in January 2008. The Australian actor, who was honoured with a posthumous Oscar for his negative role of the `Joker` in `The Dark Knight`, died before completing the movie. Hollywood A-listers Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell, were roped in to replace Ledger in various fantasy scenes. The film, which premiered at Cannes this year in a non-competition category, had failed to attract a deal at that time, a news magazine reported. While the movie found distributors for European territories such as UK, France, Germany, Italy and Australia and New Zealand, the US deal is likely to be made official this week. Bureau Report
