The Indian bowling and fielding was off today! They did start decently but as the game progressed, their bowlers took a real pounding. Except for Shami, everybody went for over 6 per over. Also, a few dropped catches did not help their cause. Overall, India were very poor today.

Warner fell but Smith and Finch continued. The Australia skipper then got to his ton but fell shortly. Smith though continued. He was dropped early in his innings and he made India pay. He went berzerk and smashed the Indian bowlers to all parts of the ground. He got up his ton in no time. Maxwell's blitzkreig was also useful and the two ensured they have scored 25 runs more than what they seemed like they would score at one stage.

What a batting performance from Australia! Wow! Had they been given this score after winning the toss and electing to bat, they would have taken it with both hands. Have to say it is Smith who is the star but the foundation was laid from the opening pair as the two added 156.

Hello and welcome to the 1st ODI between Australia and India. A lot of chats, a lot of build-up and a lot of excitement heading into this. All that talk now is left behind as the two heavyweights finally go up against each other.  

The Virat Kohli led side are all set to play after a gap of more than 8 months. No Rohit Sharma, which has stolen much of the headline. It will be interesting to see who opens and plays this game.

The last time Aaron Finch's Australia played ODI's they outplayed the World Champions in their own backyard and now they will look to kick off the Australian cricketing summer with a win over a strong Indian side.

It's all about bragging right and who will get it? Hope you are ready for what promises to be a cracker of a contest.  Stay tuned for the toss and further updates. 

The target is a huge one! India do have the fire power to chase this down but they will have to bat out of their skin. Can they do so? Australia will back themselves to defend this. Who will take a 1-0 lead?

Mohammed Shami to Alex Carey, Yes Shami can! Terrific final over from Shami. Just 6 off the final over. The last ball is a dipping full toss outside off. Carey comes inside his crease and looks to scoop it over th keeper's head but he misses. The batters steal a bye. AUSTRALIA FINISH WITH 374/6!

The Indian bowling and fielding was off today! They did start decently but as the game progressed, their bowlers took a real pounding. Except for Shami, everybody went for over 6 per over. Also, a few dropped catches did not help their cause. Overall, India were very poor today.

Warner fell but Smith and Finch continued. The Australia skipper then got to his ton but fell shortly. Smith though continued. He was dropped early in his innings and he made India pay. He went berzerk and smashed the Indian bowlers to all parts of the ground. He got up his ton in no time. Maxwell's blitzkreig was also useful and the two ensured they have scored 25 runs more than what they seemed like they would score at one stage.

What a batting performance from Australia! Wow! Had they been given this score after winning the toss and electing to bat, they would have taken it with both hands. Have to say it is Smith who is the star but the foundation was laid from the opening pair as the two added 156.

Jasprit Bumrah to Aaron Finch, ! CAUGHT! Soft dismissal to end a terrific innings from skipper, Aaron Finch!  Stop the press as Bumrah's ODI wicket drought is finally over. Short ball, a well-directed one which lacks pace as well. Finch looks to gude it over the keeper's head but the lack of pace sees him just guide it high in the air. KL Rahul runs behind to his left and takes a simple catch. Perfect way for India to finish Powerplay 2!

The Australian skipper makes a tribute to his the late Phil Hughes as he then proceeds to remove his helmet and raise it along with the bat as everyone in the stadium applauds the skipper's efforts.

PITCH REPORT - Brendon Julian and Mark Waugh are down for the pitch report. Waugh says SCG is a big ground and renowned for spin. Tells the outfield is quick and it is a high scoring ground. Julian feels it looks like a good pitch to bat on and tells there is a bit of grass. Waugh agrees but feels there is no shine on it and expects it to be an even pitch. Hello and welcome to the 1st ODI between Australia and India. A lot of chats, a lot of build-up and a lot of excitement heading into this. All that talk now is left behind as the two heavyweights finally go up against each other.  

The Virat Kohli led side are all set to play after a gap of more than 8 months. No Rohit Sharma, which has stolen much of the headline. It will be interesting to see who opens and plays this game.

The last time Aaron Finch's Australia played ODI's they outplayed the World Champions in their own backyard and now they will look to kick off the Australian cricketing summer with a win over a strong Indian side.
