Siraj walked into lunch with 3/19 in 7 overs, Bumrah super tidy with one wicket, and Kuldeep already striking gold. Jadeja and Nitish didn’t find much off the deck yet, which has started to ease out a bit. Right now, it’s India with the momentum, and Windies hanging on with tape. So, what’s next? The second session is basically do-or-die for the West Indies. Then followed a short fightback. Shai Hope, cool as always, linked up with his skipper Chase. The duo decided survival was the move - defending, blocking, nudging. Hope looked the better of the two, playing some crisp strokes, while Chase anchored. For a hot minute, it felt like the West Indies were finally exhaling. But it got turned through Kuldeep Yadav’s entry, who got a big fish, an experienced batter. His eighth ball, Hope bowled! And Windies slipped deeper at 90/5.

Siraj ripped through with absolute precision, first getting Tagenarine Chanderpaul nicking behind down leg for a duck, then Alick Athanaze at second slip and knocking over Brandon King in quick succession. By the way, a special mention to Dhruv Jurel, who has been pretty good behind the stumps, pulling off two sharp takes. Bumrah also chipped in, dismissing John Campbell after a successful review. India were running the show at 42/4 at the end of the first hour, and it was looking like

West Indies' skipper, Roston Chase, might have won the toss, but that’s literally the only win he’s got so far. He wanted to bat first, hoping the pitch would break down later, but the only thing breaking down was his top order.
