Mumbai Indians

111/10(18.1 Overs)

The chase is set to begin.

Srikar Bharat says that is a fair total and they have a good chance. Adds that his role is pretty clear and he has to do little things right. Says that he stuck to his plan and he was enjoying it. Goes onto say that Virat told him to keep the intent on and he was doing what was required at the moment and his partnership with Kohli came out well. Adds that he enjoyed his sixes. Goes onto say that they need to bowl well and show aggression in their approach.

... The Run Chase ...

So, Mumbai should fancy themselves to chase this down. They have a strong batting lineup and the wicket too looks good. Bangalore bowlers have not been at their best but can they bowl well here? We will find out.

The Mumbai bowling bowled well in bits and pieces. They were poor at the start, however, the spinners did a decent job in the middle overs but the pacers then took a pounding. However, they came back strongly right towards the back end courtesy Boult and Bumrah. The latter was the pick as he ended with a three fer. Krunal Pandya and Chahar were reasonably economical. Milne though had a day to forget but he got the important wicket of Kohli. In the end, they will be pleased with their performanc

The last two overs have completely turned the tide in the favor of Mumbai! 180 or a little more than that looked possible before the 18th but Bangalore have fallen well short of it. Yet again they do not manage to finish on a high note.

Bangalore though were good for majority of their innings! They lost Devdutt Padikkal early but then Kohli and Bharat counter-attacked and got Bangalore to safer shores. Once Bharat fell, Maxwell continued the good work. He played a few audacious shots and along with his skipper added 51 before Kohli fell just after he got to his fifty. AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell then lit up the show and when they were batting 180-plus looked possible but once they fell, there were no boundaries hit and onl

Trent Boult to Kyle Jamieson, A very good end to the innings by Mumbai! Yorker on middle, Jamieson drives it to long on for a single. BANGALORE END ON 165 FOR 6.

Trent Boult to Dan Christian, Full ball outside off, Christian lifts it to deep cover for a single.

Trent Boult to Dan Christian, Short ball around middle, Christian looks to paddle but the ball is too short and he misses.

Who will walk out next? Kyle Jamieson it is.

Trent Boult to Kyle Jamieson, Full outside off, Jamieson drives it to long off for a single.

Trent Boult to Shahbaz Ahmed, ! TIMBER! Top-class yorker from Trent Boult and Mumbai are right on top here. Brilliant last two overs from them. Yorker on off and middle, Ahmed looks to flick but misses. It hits the pads and then uproots the off stump.

Trent Boult to Shahbaz Ahmed, Excellent from Boult! Very full outside off, Ahmed leaves it alone, thinking it will be a wide but not given.

Trent Boult comes back into the attack to bowl the final over.

Jasprit Bumrah to Dan Christian, Yorker outside off, Christian fails to dig it out. Excellent yorker from Bumrah. Just 6 runs and two big wickets from it.

Jasprit Bumrah to Shahbaz Ahmed, Full toss outside off, Ahmed slashes it to deep point for a single.

Shahbaz Ahmed walks out now.

Jasprit Bumrah to AB de Villiers, ! CAUGHT BEHIND! That is why Bumrah is one of the best in the world! He gets rid of Maxwell and now gets rid of AB de Villiers as well. Mumbai right back into this one. Shortish ball, pacy outside off, de Villiers looks to slash at it but it goes off the outside edge towards de Kock who makes no mistake. Can Bangalore still reach 180?

Dan Christian walks out at number 6.

Jasprit Bumrah to Glenn Maxwell, ! CAUGHT! Bumrah has got Maxwell again! This is the 7th time he has got him in the Indian T20 League. End of a very good innings from Maxwell but Bangalore would have loved for him to stay till the end. Low full toss on middle, Maxwell looks to whip it away again. It goes off the bottom half of the bat towards long on where Trent Boult takes the catch.

Jasprit Bumrah to Glenn Maxwell, NOT A WIDE! Very full outside off, Maxwell looks to play the reverse paddle but misses. Maxwell is not too happy as that has not been called a wide.

Adam Milne to Glenn Maxwell, Full down the leg side, Maxwell looks to heave it to the leg side but it brushes his pads and it goes to the keeper.

Adam Milne to Glenn Maxwell, ! Tremendous batting! Low full toss on middle, Maxwell goes down and then plays the reverse sweep over short third man for a boundary.

Adam Milne to Virat Kohli, ! CAUGHT! Kohli falls after scoring a fifty! Big wicket for Mumbai as Kohli would have looked to press on the accelerator! Short ball around middle, Kohli dances down and looks to pull. It takes the top edge and it goes to deep square leg. Anukul  Roy, the substitute fielder, takes a good catch running in from deep square leg. Once again, Kohli falls at the wrong time, that happened in the Chennai game and it has happened here too.

Adam Milne to Glenn Maxwell, Short ball around off, Maxwell uses his feet and then pulls it to long on for a single.

Adam Milne to Glenn Maxwell, ! Clever batting from Maxwell! This also brings up the 50-run stand between Kohli and Maxwell. Good-length ball outside off, Maxwell, reverse paddles it to third man for a boundary.

Adam Milne to Virat Kohli, Short ball on off, Kohli pulls it to deep mid-wicket for a single.

Trent Boult to Glenn Maxwell, Outside off, Maxwell goes after it but misses.

Review! Rohit Sharma decides to take it upstairs for LBW. The UltraEdge shows no bat is involved. The Ball Tracker shows that the ball is pitching outside leg. Glenn Maxwell survives and Mumbai lose a review here.

Rahul Chahar to Glenn Maxwell, NOT ! That has pitched well outside leg. That was a review in desperation! Chahar bowls it there as he sees Maxwell go for the reverse sweep. Maxwell looks to play it but misses. It hits him on the pads. An appeal but turned down. It is reviewed. Hawk Eye shows it to be pitching well outside leg. Mumbai lose a review.

Rahul Chahar to Glenn Maxwell, Just short! Outside off, Maxwell slaps it to covers.

Rahul Chahar to Glenn Maxwell, ! Oh, boy! That is massive! That is some hit! On middle. Maxwell plays the reverse sweep, he clears the cover fence with ease. What power, just outstanding.

Time-Out! Bangalore lost Bharat who was looking pretty good in the middle. But Maxwell did well to replicate his innings and has managed to support Kohli well in the middle. The run flow had dried up initially, but these two batters have counter-attacked really well. Mumbai, on the other hand, have leaked a few runs in the middle overs and look to be in some trouble. They would look to chip more wickets at regular intervals to make inroads in the game.

... Match Day ...

Hello and welcome to game number 39 of the Indian T20 League. In this game, Mumbai will be locking horns against Bangalore. Both the teams are desperate for the two points. They have been not up to the mark since the restart. Bangalore though still find themselves in the top half of the table, unlike Mumbai who saw themselves slip down to the sixth spot after their defeat against Kolkata. Who will come out on top? Which team will break their winless streak?

Mumbai, on the other hand, have had the same issues in the second leg. Their batting has been far too inconsistent and they need to sort out their issues. They have a good record against Bangalore and they would hope that they can play their best game here. Hardik Pandya did not play the first two games and it would be interesting to see if he returns to the XI to bolster their line-up.

Toss - Up goes the coin and it lands in favour of Mumbai. They have elected to bowl.

Bangalore's batting has to step up! Their middle order has failed to get going this season, with the likes of AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell, not being able to replicate the form they showed in the first leg. They did bring in Tim David in the last game but he too failed to get going. Everyone knows that if these three get going, Bangalore can be a dangerous side and they will hope today is the day, they get back to form. We will have to wait and see.

Mumbai right back into this one. Shortish ball, pacy outside off, de Villiers looks to slash at it but it goes off the outside edge towards de Kock who makes no mistake. Can Bangalore still reach 180?

Jasprit Bumrah to Glenn Maxwell, ! CAUGHT! Bumrah has got Maxwell again! This is the 7th time he has got him in the Indian T20 League. The run flow had dried up initially, but these two batters have counter-attacked really well. Mumbai, on the other hand, have leaked a few runs in the middle overs and look to be in some trouble.

We will have to wait and see.Â
