New Delhi: Former Indian pacer Lakshmipathy Balaji brought end to his 16-year-long first class cricket career on Thursday. Though he did not have a long stint in the Indian jersey, the speedster did manage to bag 8 Tests, 30 ODIs and 4 T20Is to his name.
As Balaji revealed plan to stick to only franchise cricket – Indian Premier League and Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) – former teammate Irfan Pathan revealed an incident during the 2004 India-Pakistan series where the home crowd tweaked the lyrics of famous song "Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo" to "Balaji Zara Dheere Chalo" targeting the in-form Lakshmipathy Balaji.
