New Delhi: The tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been nothing less than a nightmare for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The Virat Kohli-led led side, which boasts of some mercurial players in Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Shane Watson, has had a forgettable campaign this season.

After ending up being the runners up last season, RCB are currently languishing at the bottom in the points table after two wins and a draw from 13 matches. With just one match remaining, the cricketers have already started expressing their disappointment for a poor show this season.

Skipper Kohli led from the front when he posted an emotional message for all the RCB fans. Kohli, who scored close to a thousand runs last season, which included a record four centuries, had a mediocre season where he managed to score just three half-centuries from nine games.

After Kohli, it was the turn of AB de Villiers to apologise to the fans.

Mr 360 took to Twitter to write, "A disappointing #IPL2017. Some tough lessons learnt that we take in to next year! Happy to be home with the family before the #CT17 in June."

AB, along with other South African cricketers have left the tournament for national commitments.

RCB, who have the record for posting the highest team total (263/5 vs Pune Warriors in 2013) in the history of the tournament, also created an unwanted record when they were bowled out by Kolkata Knight Riders for 49 - which was the lowest team total in all the ten editions.
