India vs England 2nd T20I Highlights: If we look into the Indian set-up, the hosts are filled with stars such as Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, who have the potential to change the course of the match from any given point.

  • Skipper Kohli finishes the contest in style, as he smashes Chris Jordan for a FOUR and follows it up with a SIX. The hosts complete the stiff 165-run chase in just 17.5 overs and win the match by seven wickets. Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 73 from 49 balls, while Shreyas Iyer scores 8* from the same number of balls.

    Virat Kohli brings up his 26th half-century in T20Is. The Indian skipper played the ball straight over the bowler's head for a SIX. Meanwhile, India are cruising towards a big win here as the hosts require just 22 in the final five overs.

  • Pant's show comes to an end! 

    Rishabh Pant's stay in the middle comes to an end as the left-handed batsman walks back to the pavilion after scoring 26 from 13 balls. A 135 kmph delivery by Chris Jordan and it takes the bottom edge of Pant's bat. The ball goes high in the air, before it is collected safely by Jonny Bairstow at deep. IND: 133/5 (14 overs), need 32 runs in 36 balls  

  • Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant keep the scoreboard ticking after Ishan Kishan's dismissal as India reach 119/2 after 13 overs. The pair have so far added 25 runs off 18 balls. Meanwhile, Kohli is inching towards his FIFTY.   

     

  • Two SIXES in a row!

    Ishan Kishan slams Adil Rashid for consecutive SIXES and with this the debutant also brings up his half-century. However, Ishan's stay in the middle also comes to an end in the same over as he is trapped LBW on 56 (32). 

     

  • Dropped! 

    After dropping Virat Kohli on 10, England produce another howler. This time Ben Stokes is the fielder involved and it was a simple catch as compared to Kohli. The ball flies straight towards Stokes standing at long-on, but fails to hold onto the ball, as it brushes his fingers, then hits his chest and falls on the ground. Adil Rashid, the bowler is disappointed and so is the England skipper Morgan.

  • Dropped!

    A poor delivery by Chris Jordan going down the leg-side but Kohli nudges the ball as it takes of his bat and brushes Jos Buttler's glove before racing towards the fine-leg boundary for a four. Meanwhile, an expensive over by Jordan as 12 runs come off it. IND: 34/1 (5 overs), need 131 runs in 90 balls 

  • A good over from India's perspective as Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli combine to fetch nine runs from Sam Curran's previous over. IND: 15/1 (3 overs)

  • Sam Curran strikes as India lose KL Rahul early in the 165-run chase. The right-handed batsman gets a thick outside edge, which is collected by Jos Buttler. IND: 0/1 (1 over) 

  • A brilliant final over by Shradul Thakur as the seamer gives away six runs and finished his four-over quota with two wickets. Meanwhile, England post 164/6 after 20 overs. 

  • Shradul Thakur strikes! 

    Shradul Thakur strikes as Eoin Morgan departs for 28 off 20 balls. It was a wide delivery and the England skipper tried to drive the ball through the cover region, however, he fails to get the timing right as the ball balloons up in the sky before landing safely in Rishabh Pant's gloves.

  • Another one bites the dust! 

    Washington Sundar picks his second wicket of the day as Jonny Bairstow decides to clear the mid-wicket fence. However, his short falls yards inside the boundary rope, with debutant Suryakumar Yadav standing at the right place. However, the fielder fumbles but recoveres quickly to complete a good catch in the deep. That's the end of Bairstow as he departs for 20 (15). 

  • Jason Roy misses out on 50 yet again! 

    Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy continue ticking the scoreboard as England reach 91/2 after 11 overs. Meanwhile, Roy, who missed out on his half-century in the previous encounter, is again inching towards his fifty. He is batting at 46. 

    However, Roy wastes another opportunity to reach his half-century as he goes for the aerial route against Washington Sundar but fails to get his timing right. Trying to fetch a six on the leg-side, the batsman goes for the slog sweep but the ball takes a little more elevation than Roy would have hoped for. In the end, a brilliant catch by Bhuvneshwar Kumar at deep mid-wicket brings an end to his innings. 

     

  • Wicket no 2!

    Yuzvendra Chahal provides India with a much-needed breakthrough as he traps Dawid Malan LBW on 24(23). It was a straight delivery and Malan failed to get any connection, while attempting a sweep. The ball hits his pads and but the umpire doesn't look interested. However, Chahal after a brief discussion with his skipper decides to take a review and TV replay confirms that the ball was pitched on the line and was hitting the stumps.   

  • India look for a breathrough! 

    The pair of Dawid Malan and Jason Roy have added 63 runs from 45 deliveries as England reach 64/1 after 8 overs. 

  • End of poweplay!

    Both the sides enjoy their share of luck in the first six overs. While Bhuvneshwar provided the hosts with an early breakthrough, but since his dismissal Jason Roy and Dawid Malan have helped England recover well. After the end of powerplays, England are batting on 44/1. 

  • Roy, Malan make things steady!

    Despite the early blow, Jason Roy and Dawid Malan target the big shots as the pair help the visitors reach 30/1 after 4 overs. 

  • Bhuvi strikes! 

    A great start by Bhuvneshwar Kumar as he traps England opener Jos Buttler LBW on 0. Slight movement and the batsman fails to get his bat behind the line of the ball as it hits his pads. Umpire thinks it was hitting the stumps and Buttler thinks the same as he decides not to take an early review.

While the debutant scored 56 from 32 balls, Kohli remained unbeaten on 73 off 49 balls as India chased down a stiff 165-run target in just 17.5 overs. With this win, the five-match series is now levelled at 1-1.

Suryakumar Yadav also made his T20I debut in the contest, but the middle-order batsman didn't get a chance to showcase his abilities. After inviting England to bat first, Bhuvneshwar Kumar provided hosts with a brilliant start as he removed Jos Buttler on 0 in the first over.

Jason Roy (46 off 35 balls) and Dawid Malan (24 off 23 balls) steadied things down as visitors eventually managed to pile 164/6 in their 20 overs. 


In response, India got off to a poor start, losing opener KL Rahul on duck in the first over. However, after his dismissal the pair of Ishan and Kohli added 94 runs for the second wicket and kept the hosts in the hunt. Ishan was removed by Adil Rashid shortly after completing his maiden fifty. Rishabh Pant's quickfire of 26 ball 13 pushed the contest entirely into India's favour as the hosts chased down the target without any hiccups.
