Sharing an emotional video, the 28-year-old also requested his fans to keep supporting Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and pray for a strong start to the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

The skipper thanked his fans for "the concern and the wishes people."

Kohli's pet dog also made an appearance in the video. The RCB skipper went on to explain why he loves dogs.

Kohli injured his right shoulder while trying to stop a boundary on Day 1 of the Ranchi Test against Australia.

Earlier today, Kohli also tweeted a photo of himself with Indian team physio Patrick Farhart.

"Thanks to this gem of a human being for working so hard with the injury. Works tirelessly and never complains. Thanks Patrick!" Kohli wrote.

The first tweet will be a surprise to his detractors in Australia, who have had some troubled times with Kohli during the ill-tempered Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.

During the Test series, Kohli also claimed that Farhart was "disrespected" by visiting players.

Yesterday, the Indian board revealed that Kohli's availability for IPL-10 will be known only in the second week of this month.
