New Delhi, Mar 16: BJP today reached an understanding with Defense Minister George Fernandes' Janata Dal (United) on 40 seats in Bihar and has also given six seats to JD (U) in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Assam.
BJP will contest elections on 17 seats in Bihar and JD(U) on 23. Decision on two seats of Siwan and Muzaffarpur is yet to be taken, BJP President Venkaiah Naidu told reporters.

Naidu, who also announced noted Bollywood singer, Kumar Sanu's joining the BJP, said JD(U) will contest in Lakshwadeep, Banaswada in Rajasthan, one seat in Assam and Aula, Kosi and Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. Bureau Report
