I mistook theatre for a party as I was high: Shia Labeouf

Los Angeles: 'Transformers' actor Shia Labeouf, who was arrested for disrupting a theatre performance, has revealed he was so drunk that night he mistook the theatre for a party.

The 28-year-old troubled star said he thought he disrupted a party performance in June this year, reportedly. Labeouf was arrested at Manhattan venue Studio 54 after interrupting a performance of Cabaret, smoking in the venue, and scuffling with cops outside.

He later pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was ordered to complete six months of alcohol rehabilitation treatment, and the actor has now recalled his night of shame, revealing he was so drunk he thought he was attending a party and was simply joining in the fun.

"I'm walking towards the (theatre) and now the drunk is really kicking in. I'm really good and drunk at this point. I get into the theatre and it's set up like an old club... They have tables and there's all these women in burlesque and I'm like, 'Oh, this really is some kind of party or something'...

"Now I'm drinking these drinks and the show starts and out comes Alan Tuding... Alan Cumming. It could have been Allen Iverson at this point. He's smoking a cigarette and so I go, 'Oh, it's that kind of party. Perfect. I want to have a cigarette too.' So I pull this cigarette out and I'm smoking a cigarette and these women want nothing to do with me. Nobody wants nothing to do with me, but I don't care. I'm just seeing Allen Iverson in leather pants and saying this is the craziest show I've ever seen," he recalled the incident.

LaBeouf said he even thought the police who arrived to arrest him were all part of the fun, adding, "I see six cops having their own party and anyways, they end up taking me to the station. I get to the station and I quickly realise, I'm not supposed to be here. I'm not made for this set up," he said.
