London,June 03: Six new top ten entries failed on Sunday to knock American R&B artist R. Kelly from the pinnacle of the British singles chart, according to the Official UK Charts Company.
Kelly's "Ignition Remix" held on to the top spot for the fourth consecutive week, fending off stiff competition from teen favorites S Club, who entered the chart at two with their farewell single "Say Goodbye/Love Ain't Gonna Wait For You."
It rounds out four years of chart success for the pop group, who told fans at a concert in April that they were calling it a day.
The group were created in 1999 from 10,000 wannabes and topped the hit parade in July of that year with their debut single "Bring It All Back."
At No. 3 on Sunday's chart were Busta Rhymes and Mariah Carey with new entry "I Know What You Want," followed by Radiohead at four with "There There."
Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton entered the chart at five with her comeback single "Free Me."
"Baby Spice" Bunton, who was dropped by her record label Virgin after poor sales, has signed on with Spice creator Simon Fuller and taken on a raunchy new image for her latest assault on the charts.
Bunton was followed by Justin Timberlake, who dropped four places to this week's No. 6 with "Rock Your Body" -- the third single from his No. 1 solo album "Justified."
"Get Busy" by Sean Paul was at No. 7, followed by British hip-hop act Big Brovaz at eight with "Favorite Things," a remake of the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein song from "The Sound of Music."
Xtm and DJ Chucky were a new entry at nine with "Fly on the Wings of Love," while Abs, ex-member of boyband 5ive, entered the chart at 10 with "Stop Sign," his first release since August 2002.
Britain's first ever Eurovision entry to score "nil points" -- Jemini's "Cry Baby" -- proved a little more popular with British music fans, securing the 15th spot in this week's chart. Bureau Report
