Lucknow, Jan 28: The Uttar Pradesh Congress today said that it may pass a resolution asking the high command to withdraw support from Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav`s government. The state Congress is also likely to pass a resolution asking Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi to join active politics and contest from Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) President Jagdambika Pal said that the issue of withdrawing support from the Samajwadi Party-led ruling alliance would come up for discussion during meetings of state unit office bearers and district and town presidents today and tomorrow.

"If the issue comes up, we would inform the high command accordingly," he said hinting that a resolution to this effect could be passed.

The AICC general secretary in-charge of UP Chaudhury Virender Singh too added fuel to speculation when he said that he was not sure with whom the party would have a tie-up to contest the Lok Sabha elections.

"We are not in a position to tell with whom we would fight the elections," Singh said.

Meanwhile, Yadav today reiterated that Congress President Sonia Gandhi`s foreign origin was not an issue for the party.
"We have said long ago that Sonia Gandhi`s foreign origin is not an issue for us, we had withdrawn our earlier resolution. Now even the courts have said it`s not an issue, and we respect the decisions of the courts," said Yadav.

Yadav further added that his party could give issue based to Congress and clearly ruled out truck with the BJP.
