Los Angeles: Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman has turned to Cate Blanchett for a little parenting advice after failing to find a balance between motherhood and her career.

The 34-year-old actress says she has struggled to find the time to be a good mother to four-year-old son Aleph and work on new film projects like "Planetarium" and "Jane Got a Gun", so she asked celebrity friends for help and advice, reported Harper's Bazaar magazine.

"Very early on, I asked her (Blanchett) about being a parent. I said, 'How do you do it? You're a mom. You're the best at what you do' She said, 'You just do. Stressing about it doesn't help'," Portman said.

And she has discovered that parenting problems she faces as a working mother is shared by so many of her peers - male and female.

"Most men I know are dealing with the same issues. They say they feel like if they work too hard they won't have enough time with their families. Maybe those questions need to be asked of men, too. Maybe the men need better questions."
