Chandigarh, Mar 25: Pandemonium prevailed in the Punjab Assembly today over allegations of irregularities in the recently held civic polls in the state. Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) legislator Manpreet Badal sought a debate during the Zero Hour alleging irregularities but Speaker Kewal Krishan ruled out discussion on the issue.

Protesting the Speaker's ruling, the sad members marched to the well of the house and shouted slogans.
Parliamentary affairs minister Choudhary Jagjit Singh intervened saying that the sad had already lost the local bodies poll and it was not any issue to be deliberated upon.
After a request from the Speaker, the SAD members went back to their seats.
Badal sought a substantive motion to be brought on the alleged irregularities.
Later, the speaker curtailed by about 150 minutes to enable members to cast their votes in the elections to some municipal bodies in the state today.
