Ajmer, June 30: Bollywood actor turned politician Sunil Dutt today said his Sadbhavana Yatra was not linked with any political party and expressed displeasure over some Congress workers using the forum to raise pro-party slogans. As Dutt, leading the Yatra, arrived here last night, Congress workers carrying party placards shouted slogans praising the party and its chief Sonia Gandhi.
He told reporters today that his Yatra and communal harmony movement was not linked with any political party.
The actor refused to attend a reception arranged by NSUI, students' wing of congress, which angered the student leaders who demonstrated outside the circuit house where Dutt was staying.
Police had to intervene when some of the demonstrators tried to lock Dutt's room in circuit house.
Addressing a public meeting later Dutt called for strengthening harmony, brotherhood and love among the people of the country.
He appealed the people to stop killing each other and instead create an atmosphere of harmony for progress of the country.
“Don't kill your own brothers. Join Indian army to kill enemies,” Dutt said.
