The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Tuesday initiated inquiry against former Akali minister Gobind Singh Kanjla for allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. VB director A P Pandey said the department had initiated inquiry against Kanjla, former social welfare, women and child development minister, on the charge of misusing his official position and amassing wealth while making various appointments in his department during his tenure. Besides Kanjla, the other former Akali ministers who are already facing vigilance probe included Sucha Singh Langha and Nirmal Singh Kahlon. Kanjla was not available for comments. Bureau Report
