Dehradun, June 22: The ruling Congress party in Uttaranchal today asked Harak Singh Rawat, who has resigned as revenue minister in the wake of the "unwed mother' scandal, not to make any public statements damaging to the party's interests. While announcing his resignation last Wednesday, Rawat had alleged that he was the victim of a conspiracy in which not only opposition members but some of his own party colleagues as well as the bureaucracy were involved. “Rawat should rather speak out his mind before the CBI which is to inquire into the episode instead of making statements damaging to party interests," Uttaranchal Congress general secretary Dhirendra Pratap told reporters here. "If Rawat sees any involvement of his party colleagues in the scandal, then he should expose their names before the central leadership. In case Rawat thinks that some other people are involved, then he should rather approach the investigation agency CBI which would probe the matter," Pratap said. Bureau Report
