Hyderabad, Sept 16: Three PWG naxals were killed in an encounter with the police in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh early this morning. The incident occurred when a police party exchanged fire with extremists during a combing operation in a forest area near Mulguvenkatpur village, police said.

As many as six naxals managed to escape during the firing, they said.

Police suspect the group to be involved in last night's incident in which PWG naxals set on fire a petrol pump, run by former TDP MP Chandulal, near M Ghanpur in the district.
