Mumbai: Choreographer Remo D`Souza who makes his debut as director with Vashu Bhagnani`s film "Faltu" says the transition was a natural progression for him.
"I have done over 100 films and directed 1000 songs. Direction is one step ahead. A choreographer is the director of songs. The only difference is that i am graduating from directing a three minute part of the movie to a full fledged movie," he said at the digital launch of the film`s music here today.
Speaking about the film, Remo who is currently judging ’Jhalak Dikhla Ja’ on Sony TV, said "Faltu" was a not just a love story, but about education system and coming of age of the young generation.
He promised that the film will not be "faltu" as the title suggests but declined to elaborate on the title.
"This was an idea myself and Jackky Bhagnani had in mind and I am grateful to Jackky`s father Vashuji for helping us realise our dream," he added.
He admitted that filmmaking was much tougher task than directing songs.
"As a choreographer, I am just committing three days to shoot a three minute song, edit it and hand it over to the director. But, as a director, I am responsible for the entire movie and this is what I am finding very challenging,” he said.
Remo said he had directed a Bengali film and had won an award for it.
Puja said she was not feeling the pressure of making debut in Bollywood.
"This is the choice I have made," she said.
Jackky said criticism of his debut film "Kal kisne dekha hai" has made him a better person.
"I am still learning as an actor and have a long way to go," he said adding that he had worked on his shortcomings.
Riteish said he plays a college principal in the movie.
"This is a young and unique film. people can download the songs of the film by logging on to the website for Rs ten and downloading the entire album will cost Rs 40. This is an attempt to curb piracy,"he added.
Faltu releases on April one. The cast of the film will perform at Bryan Adam`s live concert later this month.
"Faltu" stars Riteish Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, Arshad Warsi, Miss India Puja Gupta among others. Jackky, who made his acting debut with box office failure `Kal Kissne Dekha` in 2009 said that the criticism about the film has made him a better person.
