FIRST LOOK: Madhuri Dixit fights against male domination in ‘Gulaab Gang’

The makers of ‘Gulab Gang’ – a woman-centric drama that boasts of a pro star cast comprising Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla and Tabu to name a few have released the first look poster of the film.

New Delhi: The makers of ‘Gulaab Gang’ – a woman-centric drama that boasts of a pro star cast comprising Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla and Tabu to name a few have released the first look poster of the film. ‘Gulaab Gang’ will tell the tale of a namesake and famous ‘women only’ group in UP of 20,000 members, vigilantes and social activists who fight rampant domestic violence in the state. The poster showing a blood stained sickle is a symbolic representation of the motto of the gang and that is to uproot crime and injustice towards women in a male-dominated society. The group gained fame when its leader Sampat Lal entered the sixth season of the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ only to be evicted soon. And to portray Sampat’s character on screen, Madhuri Dixit has been zeroed in on by the writer and director of the film Soumik Sen. ‘Gulaab Gang’ will release this year and is been counted among the most awaited films of 2013.
