Itanagar, Nov 15: Arunachal Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) has submitted a six-point memorandum to Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani to mitigate some of the urgent needs for rapid economic development of the state. A copy of the memorandum, released to the press here today, highlighted the problem of communication, establishment of trade and commerce with neighbouring countries, development of tourism industry, completion of Bogi Beel bridge over river Brahmaputra at Kolajan in Assam, besides construction of Tamen-Tali road and making Arunachal an asset bearing state.
A delegation of ACCI led by its president Kipa Babu and general secretary T N Tariang met Advani at Raj Bhawan yesterday and explained how the state has become handicapped due to lack of road connectivity and the dilapidated condition of national highway.
The ACCI emphasised on the need of opening up the traditional trade routes with neighbouring countries like China, Bhutan and Myanmar.
The Bogi bridge over Brahmaputra at Kolajan would tremendously improve the road and rail connectivity between Assam and Arunachal besides bringing nearer the western and eastern Arunachal Pradesh promoting economic activities, the ACCI memo added.
Arunachal Pradesh Tour Operator's Association also submitted a memorandum to Advani asking him to develop Arunachal as a world class tourist destination by bringing the state in the tourist map of the country.
