Kolkata, Jan 03: Indian chief coach Stephen Constantine on Thursday expressed unhappiness with the fitness level of the players called to the coaching camp for the SAAF football championship beginning in Dhaka from January 10. "I'm not entirely happy with their fitness level. They should have been in peak fitness after having played eight matches for their clubs in the National League," Constantine told a press conference on the inaugural day of the coaching camp for the tournament.
The 39-year old Anglo-Cypriot said his charges were in better shape fitness-wise when he began the camp in Jamshedpur ahead of India's campaign for the Busan Asiad.
"But I know there is no point in sitting over and crying. We have to put in our best efforts," he said.
Twenty-one of the 26 players selected for the camp reported on the opening day.
