Russell Peters to visit India to promote ‘Speedy Singhs’

The very popular stand-up comedian Russell Peters is coming to India for the promotion of Indo-Canadian Bollywood film ‘Speedy Singhs’ this month. Apparently, Russell makes his Bollywood debut with this film.

Zeenews Bureau Mumbai: The very popular stand-up comedian Russell Peters is coming to India for the promotion of Indo-Canadian Bollywood film ‘Speedy Singhs’ this month. Apparently, Russell makes his Bollywood debut with this film.
Reportedly, Peters is slated to visit the country a week before the film`s release on September 23 to assist in the promotional activities. When contacted, a spokesperson of ‘Speedy Singhs’ confirmed, "This film is Akshay Kumar`s first Hollywood co-production. Akshay was very aware of Russell`s huge fan-following in. He will be hosting everyone in India. We have shared the idea with Russell to visit to promote the film and we are working out the details now." In the film, Russell essays the character Sonu, who is the to-be brother-in-law of the main protagonist Vinay Virmani. The film marks the debut of actor Vinay Virmani, and also stars Camille Belle and Anupam Kher. It features a cameo appearance of Akshay, Drake and Ludacris. ‘Speedy Singhs’ is slated to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. ‘Speedy Singhs’ which is directed by Robert Lieberman, has been titled ‘Breakaway’ for international audiences. Russell, who last visited Mumbai in October 2008, will also do a stand-up show with other Indian comedians during his trip to the city.
