Jerusalem, March 20: India and Israel are to hold a Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting on counter-terrorism next week. The meeting will delve upon "exchange of information regarding each others problems and perspectives in fight against terror", an Israeli Foreign Ministry official said.
"The two allies will also explore different arenas, such as diplomatic, media, ways of clamping international sources of financing terror and such other areas for cooperation in combating the shared menace", he added. The inter-sessional activities will deal with practical aspects of fighting terror together, the official said. The discussions to start here on March 24, will be initiated by Director General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ilan Biran. The Indian delegation in the talks will be headed by R M Abhyankar, Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs. Jeremy Isserchroff, Head of the Department of Strategic Affairs at the Foreign Ministry will lead the Israeli side. It will be the third meeting of the JWG since its inception. Bureau Report
