Jamui, Aug 10: Maoist Communist Centre (MCC) ultras kidnapped and later killed the ‘panchayat’ head and two others of Ropabel village in this naxalite-infested district of Bihar, police said today.
Around 250 MCC ultras swooped on the village late last night and after evicting the inmates, blew off the house of Ropabel ‘mukhia’ Gopal Sao and kidnapped him, his brother Sambhu and a supporter Bhola Thakur, Superintendent of Police B Ahmad said.
Later, they killed the three by opening their stomach with sharp weapons, the SP said. Their bodies were recovered from Charkhi Pathar village, about 45 km from the district headquarters today, Ahmad said.
Police suspected old enmity as the reason behind the incident. Gopal Sao was earlier in touch with the banned outfit but later dissociated himself after some differences, police said.
