Milan, Apr 19: Christian Vieri refused Inter Milan coach Alberto Zaccheroni's decision to start yesterday's match on the bench and then said he does not have any "relations" with his coach.
"I don't have relations with the coach, I speak with the president," Vieri said in a comment sure to increase already rampant speculation about his or Zaccheroni's possible departure from Inter.
Inter owner Massimo Moratti and club president Giacinto Facchetti have not announced any decisions about Vieri or Zaccheroni's status.
Still recovering from a head injury after getting hit by a bottle thrown from a Perugia fan last week, Vieri was declared unfit by Zaccheroni to play a full 90 minutes against Bologna.
"The coach decided to put me on the bench and I said to him that I preferred to practice, so I practiced and now I came to watch the match," Vieri said to reporters upon arriving at San Siro.

"It's five years that they've been saying these things, and I'm not going to make any more of an affair," Vieri said when asked about the speculation behind his refusal. "Instead of staying on the bench and risking not playing it's better to have a good practice, keep up your form."

In January, Vieri was fined by Inter for refusing to go to an away match against Udinese in the Italian Cup.
