Financial constraint forces 'Makdee' actress Shweta Basu into prostitution

New Delhi: Once a household name, owing to her impeccable performance as a child artiste in Ekta Kapoor's 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki', the young Shweta Basu Prasad, in a shocking turn of events has been arrested by the Hyderabad Police in connection with a high profile prostitution racket.

The young actress, who is now 23-year-old was caught in a compromising position, when the police raided a plush hotel at Banjara Hills. The actress was held in company of a pimp, along with some high profile businessmen from Mumbai.

Shweta tasted success at a very tender age and went on to grab great roles in films such as 'Makdee', which even won her a National Award for Best Child Artist in the year 2002. Incidentally, this is not the first time that her name has surfaced in connection with a prostitution racket.Reportedly, Shweta was exposed in a sting operation recently.

According to reports, the 'Makdee' actress due to her financial losses took to flesh trade and voluntarily got into the prostitution racket.
