New Delhi, Nov 07: Admitting that the trust of the people in the police force "is not of the desired level," CBI director P C Sharma today advised young police officers to take adequate care while performing their duties to avoid adverse reaction from the public.

"You should be very careful so that the society does not adversely comment on the police leadership," Sharma told a batch of 33 Indian police service probationers here citing a few instances in the past that bought a bad name to the police force. The batch comprising four women officials are undergoing training at the national police academy in Hyderabad and are currently undergoing interaction sessions with central police organisations like CBI, CRPF and CISF.
"Today's police force enjoys much more freedom than before as they can express themselves freely. Besides, they have more exposures in terms of infrastructure and technology," Sharma said adding that the officers should be proud of their service and their uniform because "only a few get the opportunity to be selected to the police force for serving the nation."
